Baltimore Pooch Camp

JUNE 10, 2016

Looking for artists, makers, and crafty-ish folks who'd be interested working with Pooch Camp to raise some bucks for the cause. We'll be attending several community events this year to get the word out about us, and would love the opportunity to show & sell your work with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Pooch Camp program. I'll be selling some of my prints but would love to be able to show & sell a variety of work. Let me know if you'd be interested in helping out, thanks!

So pleased & grateful to announce that Baltimore Pooch Camp was one of 13 selected projects to be named Baltimore Social Innovator in the winter 2016 class! In addition to a $1,000 we will also be featured in a story in the upcoming Baltimore Social Innovation Journal to be released on April 1, 2016.
Equally proud of the fact that my fair city of Baltimore has so many people with great ideas that the foundation found it necessary to award one extra grant this time around! GO BALTIMORE!

Just wanted to share some new & exciting developments with the Pooch Camp.

-We have just been assigned a volunteer lawyer via The Community Law Center to work with us on a pro-bono basis! Her initial tasks will be focused on making sure our state & federal filings are in order so that we may be recognized as a 501(c)3 entity.  She will also be assisting us in reviewing our bylaws, and providing advice on organizational structure and requirements for programs working with minors (e.g. background checks, liability waivers, parental consent forms, insurance, etc.)

-Mutt Mart, our friendly local pet store in Hamilton has reached out to us & is looking forward to assisting us as a much needed resource for pet supplies & access to some of their excellent dog training resources. Added bonus- they're really nice people!

-The folks at The Baltimore Humane Society in Owings Mills have agreed to a meeting with us next week in order for us to present to them our mission & plans. If all goes well, it's my hope that they will play a huge role in partnering with us to get this program up, running and successful!
